Meet the Legacy Team
Sonia Rodriguez is the founder and president of Sonia Rodriguez Ministries as well as being the Founder of the Legacy Center. As an Ordained Minister with a Bachelors Degree in Theology, Sonia has been in full-time ministry since 2010 and was a Discipleship Program Director for 2 years prior to establishing the Legacy Center in January of 2017. Sonia also holds a certification as a Spiritual Mentor and has been involved in Spiritual Mentoring since 2008. In addition, she has an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting and has 16 years experience in the medical field as a Licensed Paramedic and in clinical nursing.
On a personal level Sonia knows what it’s like to have drugs, alcohol, depression and suicidal thoughts interfere with your life and how it destroys families. She also knows the victory and freedom that can only be found when your life is built on the foundation of Biblical principles and a relationship with God.
Aimee came to Texas, all the way from Connecticut, in 2019 just to be a student of Legacy's Recovery Program. At that time she was not only introduced to her loving Father, but she also finally experienced true freedom in her life - freedom from past hurts, wounds, offenses and addictions which were keeping her tied down. While at Legacy Aimee also discovered she had a call on her life, a call and desire to help other women overcome their past traumas, offenses, and hardships while bringing them into relationship with the Lord.
After Graduation Aimee was accepted into the Legacy Internship Program and quickly proved herself to be not only faithful, but also a huge asset to the ministry. Aimee has now officially relocated to Texas and entered into full-time ministry at Legacy as the Administrative Assistant where she assists Ms Sonia with the daily running of the ministry, as well as, teaching and mentoring the students of Legacy Center.
It was while Liz, now a graduate of Legacy Center, was watching the teaching "Called" that she felt the call to continue at Legacy after graduation. To stay planted in this ministry and help it flourish. Not long afterwards she was approached by Ms Sonia and asked to stay at Legacy as the Resident Assistant.
Liz knows the freedom that is found in Christ and how only He can heal our broken places. Liz has a desire to take what has been invested in her through Legacy and invest into others. To plant the seed of the Word into every girl's life who comes through our doors. To tell them about the Lord...His love and His character...teaching them His ways and showing them true Christian character and behavior. To help them see their uniqueness and how much God truly loves them, no matter what their past has been.
